Center for Integrative Wellness
The Center for Integrative Wellness at the University of West Georgia serves as a community resource dedicated to strengthening health, resilience, and quality of life across West Georgia. Through evidence-based initiatives focused on prevention, trauma-informed practices, and whole-person health, the Center partners with local organizations, schools, nonprofits, and health systems to expand access to wellness education, training, and supportive services. The Center's mobile wellness unit brings screenings, education, and outreach directly to the community. Through signature events andthe center's community-engaged approach, the next generation of talent is prepared to lead and serve while contributing to healthier, more resilient communities.
Early Learning Center (ELC)
The Early Learning Center is a state-of-the-art early childhood laboratory school that strengthens the community by expanding access to high-quality early childhood education and supporting families through innovation, evidence-based practices. Through strong family and community partnerships, the ELC also services as a field-based experiential learning site where undergraduate and graduate students gain hands-on, career-ready experience in early childhood education, health, and related fields. Programs include Georgia Pre-K, Head Start, and specialized learning and support labs that respond to community and workforce needs.
UWGLive Simulations Lab
UWGLive is a mixed-reality classroom simulation lab that partners with schools, districts, and community organizations to strengthen teaching practice and educational outcomes. Using advanced simulation technology, UWGLive provides realistic classroom and professional interaction scenarios where educators and partners can explore instructional strategies, inclusive practices, and communication skills in a supportive, low-risk environment.
With a range of virtual classroom and adult interaction settings, UWGLive supports professional learning, workforce development, and innovation offering partners a flexible space to practice, refine, and test approaches that advance education across the community.
bluestone Public Relations
bluestone is the student-run communication agency within UWG's School of Communication, Film, and Media. We partner with nonprofit, corporate, small business, and public sector organizations to deliver research-driven communication strategies that strengthen brands and expand reach. Our team provides strategic PR planning, campaign development, content production, primary research, and social media strategy tailored to each client's objectives.

WOLF Radio & WOLF Sports Network
WOLF Radio and WOLF Sports Network are two 24/7 college radio stations in the School of Communication, Film, and Media. Through both stations, students support faculty, staff, alumni, and community initiatives through producing live shows, podcasts, and play-by-play announcing. Additional content creation expands into Instagram, Twitch, and YouTube live video streams for a deep understanding of digital media creation. From UWG Athletics to UWG Pre-K Fairytale Balls to Carrollton Half Marathons, WOLF Radio and WOLF Sports Network connect with entertaining and interactive multimedia experiences for you.
Digital Journalism Innovation Lab
The Digital Journalism Innovation Lab serves as the School of Communication, Film, and Media’s central hub for experiential learning, media innovation, and community‑connected storytelling. Bringing together The West Georgian newspaper and WUTV under one collaborative ecosystem, the lab provides students with integrated opportunities to produce high‑quality journalism, multimedia content, and real-time community information that strengthens the local media landscape.
Within the lab, The West Georgian functions as the university’s primary student news outlet, giving students hands-on experience in reporting, writing, editing, and digital publishing. WUTV expands this work through video storytelling, documentary production, and live event coverage, while also supporting community media partnerships across Carrollton and Carroll County. Together, these platforms allow students to engage directly with local organizations, civic groups, and public agencies, amplifying community voices and improving access to credible, community-centered information.
The Digital Journalism Innovation Lab also operates as a space for experimentation, research, and creative problem-solving. Students and partners can test emerging production technologies, explore new narrative formats, and pilot communication strategies that enhance regional information ecosystems. By pairing academic learning with real community needs, the lab advances UWG’s commitment to public engagement, applied innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration—helping build a more informed, connected, and resilient West Georgia region.
UWG Productions
UWG Productions provides live and recorded digital coverage of University and community events, including athletics, student programs, and presidential initiatives, along with creative media and concert sound services.
Students gain hands-on experience using industry-standard technology, producing professional-level content—including live broadcasts streamed nationally on ESPN+—while supporting the University's engagement with broader audiences.
Townsend Center for the Performing Arts
The Maurice K. Townsend Center for the Performing Arts is a dynamic campus venue that supports the arts across the region through performances, partnerships, and community engagement. The Center hosts a wide range of campus and community events, including K–12, private studio, nonprofit, and professional performances by regional, national, and international artists.
With two professionally managed performance spaces and a dedicated staff, the Center serves as a cultural hub that advances arts education, creative expression, and collaboration for the University and the surrounding community.
Visual Arts Building
The Visual Arts Building (VAB) is a hub of hands‑on creativity and home to the Art Program's ceramics, printmaking, and sculpture disciplines. This is where traditional craftsmanship meets modern technology, where students work with clay, molten metal, hand‑cranked printing presses, CNC routers, and welding. Signature experiences like the annual Iron Pour and the Anagama wood‑fired kiln highlight the scale and ambition of the work happening here. The VAB also houses the Art Atelier, where students, guided by faculty, collaborate on community‑based projects and respond to real client requests. Together, these spaces prepare students with practical skills while contributing creative energy and services to the region.
Continuing Education (UWG Continue West)
UWG Continue West delivers flexible learning opportunities—including boot camps, certificates, micro-credentials, and workshops—that support workforce development and lifelong learning across the region. Designed in collaboration with faculty, industry leaders, and subject matter experts, these programs respond to evolving workforce needs and provide hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
Innovations Lab
The Innovations Lab partners with K–12 school systems, informal learning spaces (e.g., public libraries, and educators to explore and implement emerging educational technologies. Through campus-based experiences and the Mobile Innovations Lab, the Lab provides hands-on, technology-enhanced learning that supports instruction, engagement, and innovation in schools and other learning environments.
The Garage
The Garage is UWG’s premier makerspace—an open, collaborative studio designed for prototyping and creative exploration. Grounded in design thinking, we provide a supportive environment where community members, faculty, and students transform abstract ideas into tangible solutions. Our facility supports everything from digital fabrication and electronics to textiles, creative media, and DIY repair. By partnering with campus programs, local schools and community organizations, The Garage serves as a multidisciplinary hub for hands-on innovation and community-centered design.

The Stone Center supports West Georgia family businesses with guidance on succession planning, governance, culture, and growth strategies. The Stone Center for Family Business, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation is a go-to hub for continuous learning, networking, and professional growth.

The Center supports entrepreneurs and family businesses located in the West Georgia region through mentoring, leadership development and training. The Center has strategic partnerships with area Chambers of Commerce, the Small Business Development Center, TiE Atlanta and the Family Enterprise USA.
Antonio J. Waring, Jr. Center for Public Archaeology
The Antonio J. Waring, Jr. Center for Public Archaeology is a vibrant research and outreach area committed to connecting people with the human story across time. Through innovative programming and community partnerships, the Waring Center brings archaeology to life, engaging learners of all ages in the exploration of cultural heritage.
The Center collaborates with schools, literacy programs, and a wide range of community organizations to deliver immersive, hands-on learning experiences. From classroom visits and after‑school programs to major public events, these initiatives make archaeology accessible, interactive, and deeply relevant throughout the region.
Biological and Forensic Anthropology Lab (BAFAL)
The Biological and Forensic Anthropology Lab (BAFAL) is a hands-on hub for learning, discovery, and community partnership. Through faculty- and student-led research, the lab generates new knowledge that contributes to peer-reviewed publications and professional conferences.
Students gain immersive experience through signature programs like the summer Pig Dig crime-scene simulation, while community members are welcomed through public events such as Paleo Feast, which offers an interactive look at what our ancestors ate 5,000 years ago. Together, these initiatives make BAFAL a vibrant learning community where science connects campus and community.
