Thriving in a New Normal: UWG's Richards College of Business Hosts Annual Women Empowering Women Event
Women from across the region and beyond gathered virtually Wednesday to advise, support and encourage each other in the midst of a pandemic that changed life as we know it – and to discuss how they’ve been able to rise above the challenges presented by COVID-19.
The University of West Georgia recently named Ginny Rae Turner, who’s served in the University System of Georgia for nearly a decade, as its new director of Career Services.
UWG's Alumni Association will host a virtual Thriving Under 30 ceremony later this month to recognize young alumni who have made a significant impact in their career industry while exhibiting dedication to UWG and representing the university well.
UWG was again praised for its efforts in advancing the health and wellness of the campus community and the west Georgia region at large. Only 77 universities and colleges receive a gold level of designation from the American College of Sports Medicine.
With the help of Dr Pepper – and, interestingly enough, a University of West Georgia staff member named Pepper – UWG nursing student Chemari Reeves has been awarded $75,000 in scholarship money to finish her degree debt-free.
