Welcome to the Advising Center at UWG

The Advising Center supports students in their path to graduation via delivering information about advising and registration, providing appropriate course recommendations to keep students on track, and teaching students to use the tools for self-advisement that the University of West Georgia offers. Additionally, the Advising Center's goal is to shorten the time to degree in accordance with UWG's Complete College Georgia Strategy 14 by actively monitoring the degree progress of its students and intervening for students who are off track for graduation in four to six years.

Major Things: The Social Justice Thing

Thursday, April 18 from 3-5 pm | Campus Center Ballroom 108.2

Are you passionate about social justice and advocacy? Are you interested in careers in these fields, but not sure where to start? Do you want to learn more about which majors could get you there? It’s likely you’ll need a combination of education and volunteer experience to break into this field.

Please join us for Major Things to learn more about how a major can lead to internships and professional experience to help boost your future employment opportunities within this rewarding field. We will be hosting a panel discussion with members of the UWG and social justice community as they share their experiences studying and working within this field.

*Please be aware this will be a discussion majors and careers, and not a policy discussion.
