"I'm very proud when someone calls who is desperately in need of our services, and I'm able to help solve their problem. I had someone call in really panicked because they needed to get their account set up as soon as possible. I helped them out step by step to accomplish what they needed. Afterward they were extremely grateful for my assistance. It felt really good being able to help them work through their issue instead of having to direct them to someone else. My favorite thing about working here is being able to help the students who feel like they don’t have anyone to help them. When we go out of the way to help people you see the impact we have on our faculty, staff, students and even those just visiting the campus."
"Because of UWG I have found my niche in the digital experiences department and a future career in In-House production, specifically at a sports arena. What we do here is at a very high level in comparison to other places. Recently we went to the Sports Video Summit in Atlanta, toured Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and was able to be around other people in the same field. I realized that most people there did either Broadcasting or In-house production. I never knew there was a difference between the two because I had been always been doing both. This definitely put me at an advantage. Since I already knew a lot of the information that was presented, I felt reassured that the people training me and that I was working with were integrative and up to the standards of this field. I wasn’t just being tasked with busy work."
"What interests me most about the job is the ability to learn. My supervisors assist me in learning anywhere. I enjoy that I'm not just stuck or forced into one position, I can venture out to learn from other departments about networking, cybersecurity, and client services because they truly want to set you up for success. My favorite part is that I’m not just treated like a student worker, they treat me, train me and teach me like a regular employee."
