Jennifer Edelman, Ph.D.

Dr. Jennifer Edelman is an associate professor of mathematics education in the Early Childhood through Secondary Education department as well as the Director of Data, Assessment, and Institutional Research for the College of Education.  Building on her successful career as a public school teacher in K-8 education, she earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics Education from the University of Wyoming in 2014.  In her work at UWG, she teaches classes on mathematics pedagogy and assessment, teaching methods and materials in Language Arts, and works with teacher leaders in courses on using data to meet the needs of diverse learners.  Dr. Edelman's research examines how mathematics teachers learn to use curricular materials such as manipulatives, lesson plans, and children's literature in teaching mathematics.  

Dr. Edelman has lived in seven states, mostly in the western US. She currently lives in Carrollton, GA, with her family.
