Kim Thompson

Kim began working with the department in the Fall of 2012 when she retired from working in the Douglas County School System. She attended Florida State University where she was a member of the Lady Seminoles basketball team. She currently serves as the Executive Director for the Georgia Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (GAHPERD). She is passionate about teaching and loves spending time advocating for improvements in the profession to better serve the students and teachers of Georgia.

In her spare time, Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends, sewing, working on her farm and cheering for her sons!
