Jamie Brandenburg, M.P.H., LPN, CWP, DE

Jamie Brandenburg joined the Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education in the Fall of 2019. She has a background in healthcare, public health, and social work.  

Ms. Brandenburg is passionate about improving community health outcomes through education and public health initiatives. She is a dedicated public health professional and educator committed to empowering individuals and communities to lead healthier lives who brings a unique blend of academic knowledge and practical experience to my work. With over fifteen years of experience in the field, she has worked on various public health projects to address key health issues such as chronic disease and social inequities. Whether designing and implementing health education programs or conducting research to inform evidence-based interventions, she committed to making a meaningful impact on public health.

Before coming to the University of West Georgia, Ms. Brandenburg was an instructor at West Georgia Technical College in the Nursing Department. She also worked at Tanner Health System as a Chronic Disease Coordinator and a Diabetic Educator. At Tanner, she helped start the physician referral system for community health education and managed all the clinical data collection for a $2.4 CDC PICH grant.
