The English Program offers undergraduate degrees in English and English Education, and minors in Literature, and Creative Writing. We also support interdisciplinary minor programs in Film Studies and Africana Studies. Our graduate program offers a variety of advanced seminars exclusively for graduate students. Research and teaching assistantships are available to qualified graduate students.

It’s Eclectic: Updates coming to UWG’s Literary Magazine
The Eclectic is UWG’s platform for undergrad students to publish their content. Whether
it be print or multimedia, the Eclectic provides a way to stay diverse, and allows
all students to have an opportunity to showcase their talents. Now, the editors are
working on a new way to further the publication’s ability to diversify, as well as
make content more accessible to the public.
Helping Students Write Right
With finals approaching, many students may be struggling to write papers and the University
Writing Center is preparing to help them succeed in doing so.
Former Poet Laureate of Georgia David Bottoms Returns to UWG to Deliver Chilling Reading
David Bottoms, former Poet Laureate of Georgia and UWG alumnus, returned to UWG on
Oct. 18 to deliver a reading from his newest collection of poetry, Otherworld, Underworld,
Prayer Porch.
