For excursions big and small, West Georgia Outdoors offers equipment at low cost for UWG students, faculty and staff. Our staff can also assist you in the planning and logistics of your very own adventures.

West Georgia Outdoors Summer 2023 Hours
Located at the Bookstore, West Georgia Outdoors is the hub for all things outdoor-related. Bookstore Hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Rentals can occur anytime Bookstore is open, however, West Georgia Outdoors staff will be available to assist and answer questions Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
* WGO Bookstore rental center will be open from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. for the following Orientation dates:
- June 16, 21, 23, 26, 28, 30
- July 11, 14, 18, 25
- August 4

How does renting equipment work?
Renting equipment is most often done on the spot - just stop in and one of our trip leaders can help outfit you for whatever adventure you are about to embark on. All you need is your UWG ID and either credit/debit cards or check to pay. Please note UREC no longer accepts cash as a payment method. Equipment may be checked out for up to one week, but if you need to rent equipment for longer than one week, special permission is required and can be requested by email at wgo@westga.edu.
Please note - additional fees may be applied if equipment is returned late, excessively wet/dirty, damaged or if your equipment is stolen/misplaced.
Equipment Packages
- Bike package: Helmet, bike, lock ($5/day)
- Solo paddle package: Kayak or SUP, PFD (life jacket), paddle ($8/day)
- With-a-friend paddle package: Canoe, 2 PFD (2 life jackets), 2 paddles ($12/day)
- Camping-for-two package: Tent, 2 sleeping bags, 2 sleeping pads, 2 headlamps ($15/day)
