The University of West Georgia's Innovations in Pedagogy Conference facilitates engaging conversations about best practices in teaching and learning - and provides a forum for sharing ideas across disciplinary boundaries.

The Institute for Faculty Excellence invites you to submit a proposal on the innovative ways that you prepare your students for their careers, both inside and beyond the traditional classroom. Topics might include alternative course materials, innovative uses of technology, or creative learning activities. Your 300-word proposal should include your session topic, outcomes, and activities.

Possible Topics at Innovations in Pedagogy

  • Course design for student success
  • Making meaning in the core (Core IMPACTS, Academic Mindset, etc.)
  • Drawing connections between classroom learning and career-ready competencies
  • Creating accessible learning materials
  • Implementing Universal Design for Learning strategies
  • Coordinating activities that connect students with the community
  • Designing authentic assessments
  • Fostering reflection and metacognition
  • Implementing technology, including generative AI, to engage students
  • Providing experiential learning opportunities
  • Collaborating with faculty/staff across UWG to meet student needs
  • Any other teaching practices you might want to share!
