VetJobs VetJobs services makes it easy to reach transitioning military, National Guard, Reserve Component Members and veterans that have separated over the last several decades and, due to the services provided by VetJobs, are now productive members of the civilian work force in all disciplines as well as their family members. Professions that Pay You Back While some companies have recently jumped on board to offer tuition reimbursement programs, others have been doing it for a long time. Many industries and career options have corresponding federal programs that have historically offered tuition assistance benefits. Comprehensive Community Clinic - Warrior Outreach Program Warrior Outreach Program The Warrior Outreach Program (WOP) provides therapy for an array of communication, cognitive and emotional disorders within the professional rim of speech-language pathology (SLP) and professional counseling. Services also include family support. Credit for Military Training Students, who have served in a branch of the military, may be eligible to receive college credit for their experience. Students must submit an official military transcript to request their record be evaluated for possible college credit (see Military Transcript Request Information below).
Military credit is awarded based upon the American Council on Education Guide for Military Credit recommendations. Credits are generally elective credits that may be used in the degree and major program and will be listed with a grade of ‘S’ on the student’s transcript. A maximum of 30 semester hours may be awarded. No credit is awarded for Basic Training; however, students with 2 or more years Active Duty Military Services may waive their physical education activity requirement by submitting a copy of their DD214.

How do I get priority registration?
- Veteran student – Submit a copy of DD-214 (Member 2 or Member 4)
- Students can submit their DD-214 via fax (678-839-5215) or in person to Veteran and Military Programs Office (UCC 311)
- Veteran students do not have to be utilizing GI Bill Education Benefits to be eligible for priority registration
- Military using Tuition Assistance -- Submit Approved TA forms to Veteran and Military Programs Office.
- Dependent student – Use GI Bill Education Benefits
Student Veterans Association (SVA) UWG Student Veterans Association The purpose of the Student Veterans Association (SVA), at the University of West Georgia, a chapter of the Student Veterans of America, is to provide a social group and support structure to help veterans adjust to and become successful in civilian and college life. The SVA strives to raise awareness in veterans' issues and needs to the campus community and to the University of West Georgia administration, as well as provide information to veterans about their benefits and governmental policies. Additionally, the SVA promotes community service and volunteerism, organizes social and campus activities, and encourages veterans to become active in the campus life of the University of West Georgia.
