Hello! My name is Sophia Couch, and I am a Lecturer in the First-Year Writing Program at the University of West Georgia.
I was born and raised in Carrollton, GA, and earned both my B.A. and my M.A. in English from UWG. I am dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment for my students that encourages the development of research skills, peer relationships, and an enjoyment of reading and writing through a process-based writing approach. My interest in becoming an educator was shaped by my wonderful connections with former professors at UWG, who showed me the incredible difference a supportive instructor can make in students' lives.
