Jamario Antoine Shade, Ed.D.
Dr. J. Antoine Shade serves as a faculty member at the University of West Georgia within the Department of Early Childhood through Secondary Education and Reading. Dr. Shade earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia. He also holds an Education Specialist degree in Secondary Education-Biology track, Master of Education in Special Education, Reading/Literacy Endorsement and School Leadership certification from the University of West Georgia, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education from Columbus State University.  Dr. Shade centers his work on helping teachers and instructional leaders develop inclusive pedagogical frameworks that ensure rigorous science education is accessible to all students. Dr. Shade’s taught middle school mathematics and science, as well as high school biology. He later transitioned into leadership roles, serving as a high school assistant principal and as a district leader within the Division of Teaching and Learning for Gwinnett County Public Schools. Dr. Shade actively contributes to the field as a consultant. His collaborative work includes supporting the Georgia Department of Education on rural STEM initiatives, as well as advising the American Chemical Society, Metro Atlanta school districts, and the private EdTech sector.
