Jeong Seong, Ph.D.

Dr. Jeong C. "JC" Seong, Professor of Geospatial Technologies, received Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 1999. Dr. Seong's research interest covers various topics in geospatial technology and applications including, but not limited to, GIS, global map projections for raster image database, geodesic measurements, LiDAR, remote sensing, traffic congestion, road traffic noise mapping and its impact on human health, and geospatial modeling. His research articles have been published various peer-reviewed journals including Cartography and Geographic Information Science, Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing, International Journal of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatica, and Computers and Geosciences. Dr. Seong is currently Director of GeorgiaView, a member consortium of AmericaView, and Director of GIS Certificate Program at UWG.
