Presidential Commission on Campus Inclusion

The Presidential Commission on Campus Inclusion (PCCI) is established as a representative body charged by the President with making recommendations for the promotion of diversity and inclusion at the University of West Georgia. The PCCI collaborates with campus partners to enable students, faculty, and staff to realize their full potential through academic engagement, supportive services, professional development, and a caring, student-centered community that embraces and benefits from an inclusive environment welcoming to diverse populations. Faculty and staff may join the committee or raise concerns by emailing co-chairs Danny Gourley or Lara Willox.

President's Student Advisory Council

The purpose of the President's Student Advisory Council on Diversity (PSAC) is to ensure the widest range of student voices are heard in order to promote an inclusive climate at UWG and help UWG better serve its increasingly diverse student body. PSAC members’ primary functions are to engage in conversations with the President and university administrators, solicit input from a broad range of students to inform the council's advice to university administration, and provide recommendations that will develop and sustain a campus climate of inclusiveness. Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students for the Advisory Council.

Interfaith Council

The Interfaith Council (IFC) at the University of West Georgia seeks to advance interfaith cooperation to increase understanding of religious diversity to support an inclusive campus culture. The IFC endeavors to work with those of differing worldviews, theistic and non-theistic, across the UWG campus and the West Georgia community. The IFC seeks to embrace pluralism through fostering meaningful relationships by promoting an appreciative knowledge of diverse worldviews to reduce prejudice and promote social justice. They strive to increase interfaith educational encounters through activity and dialogue. Click through to their page or contact Emily McKendry-Smith or Liz Pope to get involved.

Diversity Champions

The members of the Diversity Champions Action Council (Diversity Champions) are appointed by their deans or vice-presidents. The Diversity Champions help colleges and divisions build diversity capacity to further integrate diversity and inclusion into their day-to-day affairs.
