Rules Committee

The members of the committee include the Executive Vice President, Chief Justice, Vice President of Student Life, and two senators picked by the Executive Vice President.

The responsibilities of this committee are to develop rules not defined in the SGA Constitution or its bylaws, manage office hours, ensures senators are following protocols defined in the Constitution and bylaws, and reviews submissions of Impeachments

Public Service and Outreach Committee

The members of the committee include the Secretary of Community Engagement, and a minimum of 3 senators. Any currently enrolled student may serve on this committee.

The responsibilities of the committee are to enact the goals of the Director of Community Engagement, build relationships with, and addresses issues with local, city, county, state, and federal officials, promote diversity within the Student Body by supporting events that educate the Student Body, and organize “Meet the Administration”, the “SGA Town Hall”, and “UWG Day at the Capitol.”

Academic Affairs Committee

The members of the committee include the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and a minimum of 3 senators. Any currently enrolled student may serve on this committee.

The responsibilities of the committee are to work on the establishment of goals for the Academic Affairs Committee, advise student representative to Faculty Senate Academic Policies Committee, draft appropriate legislation in response to faculty Senate Academic Policies Committee actions, ensure SGA has student representation at each faculty senate committee and delivers a report to SGA including the purpose and any actions, recommendations or agenda items, and host a concerns event once a month.

Budget and Finance Committee

The members of the committee include the Vice President of Budget and Finance, and at least 5 senators.

The responsibilities of the committee and its members are to be responsible for reviewing and approving the budget of each committee, assist the VP of Budget and Finance by serving as a liaison between the committee chair and VP of Budget and Finance ensuring each committee stays within budget, and ensure that the SAFBA Budget Manager is aware of any SGA member who is graduating each semester.

Campus Marketing and Strategic Planning Committee

The members of the committee include the SGA President and/or Executive Vice President, the Press Secretary, and at least 3 senators. The Press Secretary is the Chair of this committee. Any currently enrolled student may serve on this committee.

The responsibilities of the committee are to manage marketing efforts of SGA, including the purchase of SGA giveaways, attire, and publications and to assist the President in assuring that all SGA programs are in conjunction with his/her vision of SGA as long as it is in accordance to the SGA Constitution and Bylaws. Responsible for all social media activity, creating promotional items, putting up flyers, and staying within the appropriate budget for marketing material.

Diversity & Inclusion Committee

The members of this committee is Secretary of Diversity and Inclusion and 3 senators. Any currently enrolled student may serve on this committee.

The responsibilities of the committee and its members are to plan and strategize activities and events in conjunction with the committee, communicate with Student Organizations and Clubs about SGA and SGA activities, and assist the VP of Student Life in the duties of his/her office.

Student Life Committee

The members of the committee include the VP of Student Life and at least 3 Senators. Any currently enrolled student may serve on this committee.

The responsibilities of the committee are to plan and strategize SGA activities and events in conjunction with the committee, communicate regularly with Student Organizations and Clubs about SGA and SGA activities, and assist the VP of Student Life in the duties of his/her office. Plans and coordinates all SGA programming with respect to the student body and proposes other student body relate events that SGA should participate in.

Government Oversight and Bylaws Review Committee

The members of this committee include the Chief Justice, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Budget and Finance, one Associate Justice, and one senator appointed by the senate.

The responsibilities of the committee are to conduct a review of the SGA constitution and bylaws on a regular basis, review suggestions to improve SGA structure, and recommend Amendments to the SGA bylaws and/or constitution to the senate.
