As part of IEA's primary mission of collecting and reporting accurate institutional data, and the major function of responding to diverse requests for data, the Office provides data for external publisher surveys for profiles and rankings.

UWG participates in The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative. The CDS is a set of standards and definitions of data items rather than a survey instrument or set of data represented in a database. It is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report. The goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality, accuracy, and consistency of provided information as well as to reduce the amount of time and effort required to respond to duplicate questions on multiple surveys. The CDS provides a standard format that captures most of the frequently requested data.
