West Georgia undergraduate researchers who have completed substantial scholarly work often have their research accepted for presentations at state, regional, and national conferences. The Honors College supports students who are accepted for presentation at the following state, regional, or national undergraduate research conferences:

Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference

The Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference is a regional, multidisciplinary conference open to undergraduates both within Georgia and beyond. GURC is hosted by a university in Georgia each fall. They invite students to present their research, performances, or artwork and to learn more about the exciting undergraduate work being conducted by other students in the region. GURC welcomes all fields of research and creative activities.

  • Who: Undergraduate students researching in ANY discipline.
  • What: Abstract submissions are accepted for oral and poster presentations as well as performing arts (dance, music, drama) and visual arts (sculpture, painting, photography).
  • When: November 10-11, 2023
  • Submission Deadline: September 15, 2023

Georgia Collegiate Honors Council Conference

The Georgia Collegiate Honors Council (GCHC) is an organization formed for the promotion and advancement of honors education in institutions of higher learning in the state of Georgia. Each year, GCHC hosts its annual meeting at a selected college or university in Georgia, giving Honors students another opportunity to share their research with others while also allowing them to meet and interact with other Honors students.

National Conference on Undergraduate Research

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is dedicated to promoting undergraduate scholarships and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual Spring conference for students.

  • Who: Undergraduate students researching in ANY discipline.
  • What: Abstracts are accepted for oral, poster, visual arts, and performing arts presentations.
  • When: April 8-10, 2024
  • Submission Deadline: TBA (typically in December-January)
  • Where: California State University - Long Beach

Southern Regional Honors Council Conference

The Southern Regional Honors Council (SRHC) Annual Conference features opportunities for honors students from across the southeast to present scholarly research. In addition, students, professors, and honors administrators enjoy the collegiality and conversations regarding honors pedagogy and best practices.
