Georgia Scholars Institute
Georgia Scholars Institute is a 4-week Summer program for high-achieving high school students. Students take dual-enrollment, core General Education classes, earn Honors College credit, and spend one-full week in June immersed in extra-curricular programs and activities on the UWG campus in Carrollton. Students get to experience college life and make connections with other student-scholars and world-class faculty.

Classes
Create your own experience and select from multiple 3 credit hour Honors courses during a four week program in June.Living
Live on the Honors floor of the Oaks Residence Hall with student mentors who are members of the Honors College.

Explore possible majors and have interactive learning opportunities with highly accomplished professors and other students who share your passion for learning.

A limited number of scholarships may be available to assist students who demonstrate financial need. Awards vary based on need, and a typical award covers a portion of the housing/meal costs. To inquire about a GSI scholarships, please email honors@westga.edu.
The course options for the Georgia Scholars Institute are approved dual enrollment courses. Students must select from the list of courses provided.
Students completing the courses offered through the Georgia Scholars Institute will receive 6 credit hours of Honors course credit reflected on the student’s UWG transcript. Each institution has policies regarding the transferability of honors credit.
Students not applying through the dual enrollment process or not approved through the dual enrollment process will be responsible for paying for the tuition and mandatory fees in addition to the program costs of $650.
