Physical & Environmental Expectations

Participants in the UWG Honors College Ireland program should be prepared for a moderate level of physical activity throughout the trip. Daily activities will include extensive walking, often on uneven surfaces such as cobblestone streets, historic sites, and natural pathways. Some excursions may involve walking uphill or navigating hilly terrain. Students should be comfortable walking for extended periods and are encouraged to bring supportive walking shoes. Ireland's climate is generally mild and comfortable during the summer months. Students can expect average temperatures between 60°F and 65°F, with occasional light rain showers and changing weather conditions. Packing layers, a lightweight waterproof jacket, and comfortable outdoor clothing is strongly recommended.
