SLPA-5703 Phonetics and Speech Sound Disorders
Description
This course provides a study of applied phonetic analysis and transcription and applications to the problems of speech improvement, speech disorders, and standard and non-standard English. This course requires students to become familiar and proficient with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as a means of speech and language change. This course also provides an overview of the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of articulation and phonological disorders.
