Basics of Business Writing Online Certificate Program
Intented Audience: The Basics of Business Writing Certificate is designed to help small business owners, office staff, and other professionals improve skill and confidence in their daily writing. The course will begin with a substantial review of foundational skills, including grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure (but no diagramming -- promise!), and will also include instruction and practice in writing common business documents such as letters, memos, and emails, instructions, and product and program descriptions. We'll also cover introductory-level marketing writing, including the basics of web, collateral, and social media.
Program Content and Structure: Basics of Business Writing is a nine-week online course consisting of 27 student learning hours or 2.7 CEUs. The course is instructed 100% asynchronously online or entirely at a distance. Students will complete weekly modules on their own schedule and should anticipate spending approximately 3 hours per week for online instruction and assignments. Successful completion of the program will require satisfactory assessment of learning outcomes.

During her 25-year career, she's drafted literally hundreds of process manuals, press releases, how-tos, business plans, and lifestyle and career articles, as well as two textbooks and several award-winning marketing pieces and video scripts. She's also multi-published in genre fiction and is working on a guide to strategic thinking in business and life.
