The University of West Georgia Theatre Department is your destination for Theatre. We offer a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts, which is accredited through the National Association of Schools of Theatre, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre with concentrations in Acting and Design/Technology. We also offer pathways in Performance and Production Design in the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) in Film , and separately, an Interdisciplinary Certificate in Musical Theatre. The Theatre Program is holistic in nature; students are provided the opportunity to work in all aspects of theatre, from acting to designing, directing to writing, and building to managing. When our students graduate, they enter their careers with skills in creative problem-solving, thinking and adapting quickly, and working collaboratively with a wide range of people and personalities .   Alumni are working in all aspects of the entertainment and educational industries. From Broadway to film to teaching in high schools, UWG Theatre prepares our students for the professional world.Students and faculty in our department participate in the Southeastern Theatre Conference, Georgia Theatre Conference, ThesCon, United States Institute for Theatre Technology and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival each year.
