Into the Woods – Book by James Lapine, Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Rehearses: February 15–April 20, 2027

- Saturdays, 1:00-4:30 p.m.
Performs: April 21–25, 2027
Overview:
Please prepare a one-minute comedic monologue from a contemporary play and a song from a Sondheim musical other than Into the Woods, or a song from a musical by a Sondheim-like composer (examples: Adam Guettel: Floyd Collins, The Light in the Piazza, Days of Wine & Roses; Jason Robert Brown: The Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World, The Bridges of Madison County; William Finn: Falsettos, A New Brain, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; anything Leonard Bernstein).
The song may be a 16-bar cutting from a ballad OR a 32-bar cutting from an uptempo tune.
Preparation means that the monologue and song are memorized, rehearsed, and exhibit character development. The song should show your vocal range. Please bring a recorded instrumental track to the audition. A bluetooth speaker will be provided.
