Hailey Macke

Hello, my name is Hailey E. Macke, and I am the proud Manager of Residence Life. I grew up in a rural town in Indiana where I have a big family that supports my southern lifestyle. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. This is where I found my passion to work on college campuses specifically with Housing and Residence life and Health Promotion. I moved to Texas in the summer of 2015 and earned my Masters of Education Administrations with a specialty in Student Affairs and Administration and Higher Education from Texas A&M University. I continued to work in Housing and Residence Life while also learning and partaking in their traditions. I have had the opportunity to be a part of creating new traditions like Wolfie's Birthday and also to carry out existing large events like move in days and I hope to Howl with the Wolves of West Georgia and continue making a difference in my sphere of influence.

Through my role I am able to be a pivot point for students on their path to finding their place on the UWG campus. A sense of belonging could be in their new roommate, joining a student organization, starting a student organization, a job on campus, volunteering, getting involved in the city of Carrollton, and so much more. I believe that by taking on new experiences we can better understand each other and that may lead to personal growth and community betterment. Even small change is important and it can perpetuate into big change. If you are ever wanting to stop by my office and tell me about yourself, values, views, ambitions, or experiences I would love your company. As I mentioned I am also passionate about health promotion. If you ever see me out walking my dog Wilbur please stop and say hello and walk a little with us. At the University of West Georgia we aim to help every student find their sense of belonging on campus. GO WEST GO WOLVES!
