The Center for Student Involvement greatly appreciates the faculty and staff who give time and effort to ensure the success of our students and organizations.

A student organization advisor plays a unique role in student development and success and can often be a main connection between students and the University community. Serving as a Student Organization Advisor is a great way to make connections with different types of students and help with a students development in a co-curricular experience!

Resources for Student Organization Advisors

CSI has developed these resources to aid in the development of our advisors and, in turn, the development of our student leaders and organizations:

The Advisor Manual has helpful information from program planning and advising styles to University policies and procedures.

The ACPA Advisor Manual was developed in the Spring of 2005 by the Commission for Student Involvement of ACPA (American College Personnel Association) as a "standardized" Advisor Manual to be used as a resource for advisors and practitioners.

The Student Organization Advisors portal in OrgSync allows advisors to connect with one another and offers the opportunity for discussion board style conversations with other advisors about best practices and tips pertaining to specific topics such as fundraising, advertising, and event collaboration.

Additionally, the Center for Student Involvement is a resource for Advisors. Please feel free to contact our office at 678-839-6526 or with any questions.
