In-State Tuition Eligibility for Border State Residents

Which States Are Eligible for In-State Tuition?

In addition to legal Georgia residents, legal residents of Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee who are applying as or enrolled as undergraduate students may be eligible for in-state tuition beginning Fall 2022.

Additional Qualifications for In-State Tuition

Residents of these states are eligible for in-state tuition if they:

  • Are applying as or are enrolled as an undergraduate student in the Fall 2022 semester or later
  • Have lived in their state for at least 12 consecutive months (if the student is under the age of 24, their parent or legal guardian must have lived in the state for at least 12 consecutive months) prior to the start of the academic term
  • Provide Verification of Lawful Presence
