Young Ik Suh, Ph.D.

Dr. Young Ik Suh is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management in the Department of Sport Management, Wellness & Physical Education. He received his Ph.D. in the Sport Management program at Indiana University in Bloomington. His areas of research interest and expertise are new media and communication technologies in sport, sport consumer behavior, sport consumer psychology, and brand management research. He is interested in studying how new media such as the Internet influence sport consumption behavior and how sport marketers utilize new media to build and maintain brand loyalty. He has published several research papers in well-known journals, including the Journal of Sport Management, International Journal of Sports Marketing & Sponsorship, and Sport Marketing Quarterly. Furthermore, he has presented nationally and internationally in Europe (e.g., EASM), Canada (e.g., NASSM, NASSS), and the United States (e.g., NASSM, SMA, CSRI). He received his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and business administration as a double major at Sung Kyun Kwan University in Korea and he graduated with masters degree in Sport Management from Florida State University. Currently, he also works as a volleyball agent for the KOrean VOlleyball federation (KOVO).
