UWG Summer Commencement Announcement from Dr. Brendan B. Kelly

Members of the UWG Class of 2020,

With the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community our highest priority, the University of West Georgia has developed alternative plans for Summer Commencement 2020. Recognizing that this event represents a significant achievement for each of our students and their loved ones, we plan to create a memorable experience that recognizes each graduate.

I invite you to watch this video message.

The university will host a Virtual Commencement Celebration on Saturday, July 25, at 3 p.m. for our summer graduates. The ceremony will be broadcast on UWG’s Livestream page.

Our promise to our Spring 2020 class was that they could return to campus and attend a traditional in-person Commencement ceremony when it was safe to do so, and we'd like to extend that same promise to you now. We will announce plans for an in-person ceremony soon. We are excited to celebrate you in July, and even more so when you return to campus as alumni!

For the virtual celebration, all graduating students are encouraged to submit a photo of themselves in their cap and gown or in UWG spirit wear. Submissions are due by July 15 at 11:59 p.m. and can be made here.

Please continue to monitor the UWG Commencement website for further updates and details.
