Catalina Trivino is a general assignment reporter in the Montgomery newsroom. She joined Alabama News Network in May 2012 as an South Alabama Newsroom reporter before moving to Montgomery.

Catalina received her bachelor's degree from the University of West Georgia with a major in Mass Communications and a minor in Spanish.

Throughout her college career, Catalina interned at her local newspaper, The Times-Georgian, and worked as an Assignment Editor and News Director for the university's broadcast station, UTV13.  She received the Mass Communications Award of Excellence for Convergence Journalism and UWG's Professional Development Award. Catalina first discovered her passion for news while reporting for her high school newspaper.

Some of her most rewarding years come from working with children who suffered from mental illnesses. To this day, she says they have inspired her to become the woman she is today. She was named Gwinnett County's Volunteer of the Year and has received the President's Volunteer Service Award.

Catalina is a California native, but has spent most of her life in Georgia, where her family still resides. Her Colombian background sparks her enthusiasm to learn about other cultures, lifestyles and the history behind them. She speaks Spanish and French - her next challenge? Japanese!

Whether it's kayaking or taking a stroll, Catalina loves the outdoors. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, visiting new restaurants, watching movies, running and listening to music. Catalina is also a Chi Omega Sorority alumna.
