Chrissy Knoll, MS, CPT

Chrissy Knoll is a Lecturer in the Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education and has taught classes in all four program areas in the department (Sport Management, Health and Community Wellness, Health and Physical Education, and Personal Wellness and Leisure Activities) since Fall 2012. She is currently serving as an Assistant Department Chair for the department, focusing on the Health and Community Wellness undergraduate and graduate programs. She is also Program Coordinator for the the Personal Wellness and Leisure Activity program and has previously served as the Exercise is Medicine on Campus Coordinator and was a Faculty Affiliate of the Wolf Wellness Lab. 

Mrs. Knoll has experience in exercise leadership, physical activity promotion, and wellness education in campus recreation, city recreation, private fitness facilities, community and corporate wellness, and with individual clients. She has also served as Athletic Director for youth and adult recreational sports, coached middle and high school swim teams, trained athletes for endurance sports competitions, and has experience with event and budget planning for community sports events.

Mrs. Knoll holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified Personal Trainer (NCSF), Group Fitness Instructor (ACE), BLS First Aid and CPR Instructor (AHA), Exercise is Medicine Specialist (ACSM), Fitness Nutrition Specialist (ACE), Swim Coach (NISCA) and Lay Coach (GHSA). She has presented on the topics of physical activity, nutrition, and wellness at the national, regional, state, and local level, has partnered or led internal grant efforts, was the recipient of the UWG College of Education Outstanding Service Award in 2018, and has led UWG's Exercise is Medicine program in achieving Gold Level recognition.
