Lisa Connell, Ph.D.

Lisa Connell is Professor of French at the University of West Georgia. Her research and teaching interests include postcolonial theory, Francophone women writers, and autobiography. She has published on Maryse Condé, Assia Djebar, Gisèle Pineau, Marie-Célie Agnant, Sylvaine Dampierre, and Marie Nimier. She is the co-editor of the volume Reimagining Resistance in Gisèle Pineau’s Works, and her book in progress, Corporeal Pedagogies: Bodies of Knowledge in Contemporary Francophone Caribbean Narratives, investigates how key policies from the slave era mediate, prompt, and are made manifest in postcolonial representations of knowledge formation.
